When I was young, stained glass was one of the most beautiful things I could imagine. The endless ways to combine shapes and colors brought me tremendous satisfaction. I created stained glass pieces from the mid 1980s to around 2006.
In 2006 I found a glass studio full of unique and amazing fused glass pieces. I knew, at that moment, I wanted to create fused glass art.
Without hesitation, I jumped in to making fused glass full bore. I didn't have the first clue what I was doing, the only thing I did know was how to cut glass. I ordered a kiln, some fusible glass, and a few books. I learn the most from trial and error. Creating my own process for making my pieces. After a few years I found classes to take that helped expand my knowledge.
Even with over ten years of creating fused glass, it is always fascinating for me to open the kin and see what my piece looks like, the glass changes with the heat and I find a beautiful surprise every time.
The possibilities with fused glass are never ending. I always have more to learn.
