As I look at my art, I’m struck by the layers of influence – one layer upon another upon yet another. My various experiences around the globe have each impacted my art in their own way.

My love affair with jewelry began three decades ago when I taught school on the Navajo Nation. I never could have predicted how that would affect my life! Each new teaching job added new layers to my background – teaching Grade 3 in Egypt, Grade 1 in Ethiopia, Grade 6 in Taiwan, and Grade 5 in Malaysia.

In addition to teaching school in the far reaches of the globe, I’ve spent a total of five years traveling on my bicycle. One year in Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Bangladesh with my (now) husband. Another year biking around the USA and Mexico with our twin sons. And then – we spent three years pedaling from Alaska to Argentina.

Now, we’re living here in Boise, and are loving our simple life.
